Then I came along

Vicki and Paul had finally bought a house with a lovely yard but just felt something was missing. Luckily I came along. I was rescued from a Pound. Who would put me there? Luckily one of the Pound workers recognised Royalty and took me home. She then asked around and that is how I ended up with Vicki and Paul. I was just what they needed. Vicki got out the Khan Family Tree and tested a few names and chose Batu Khan.

I rule a huge empire now and have many servants. This is the life I was born to.

The next one... Ogi

Paul needed a rebound cat after losing Kubla in such tragic circumstances. He found Ogedei in the local petshop.

Ogi lived with Paul in a flat above a shop. He had the whole run of this flat and a wonderful courtyard at the back with a view across a Valley. Paul was very surprised when Ogi jumped off the courtyard balcony and spent a few days AWOL. Ogi did turn up again at the front door one night. He obviously had to conquor the surrounding empires and once his campaign was over he could return home for some R&R.

Ogi got quite sick and lost control of his bodily functions. Those campaigns must have taken it out of him. He was taken care of and Paul vowed never to have another cat.

The next generation..Kubla

After several years of grieving, Paul then got a new cat. A lovely black kitten called Kubla.

Kubla loved his life with Paul. He used to sit on the motobikes and go for drives in the Mazdaradi. Kubla was a very social cat. It was all working out very nicely until he too became a victim of the busy road out the front of the family home.

The origins of my name...

I get a lot of queries about my lovely unusual name. Did you know that I am a fourth generation Khan? My servant, Paul, grew up with a cat, that was a stray and adopted his family. Paul named him Genghis.

He was a cat unto himself. Paul obviously recognised that he was royalty and named him appropriately. Paul's family lived on a very busy road and Genghis would often bail tourists up on their way to a very famous lookout at the end of his street. Genghis was obviously only asserting his authority and wanting his loyal subject to bow down to him. Unfortunately, after many years of pampered living, Genghis' hearing was not what it used to be and the very busy road was his downfall. A car, obviously going too fast, ran Genghis over. If only the owner knew who he had killed!

Recent house guest..

This is Birdie Birdie.

I just thought I would share with you the time that Vicki & Paul babysat Birdie Birdie while his owners were away in Egypt and South Africa.

Birdie Birdie was very cheeky and Vicki gave him lots of attention, so naturally I had to check out his enclosure to see what warranted all this extra attention.

He had lots of toys to play with and special food that I didn't like the taste of. When Vicki & Paul were busy watching TV in the lounge room, I would pretend to be looking for things under Birdie Birdie's cage, but really I was looking for a way in to play with him. We would have had so much fun, if only I could get him out of that cage!

Of course, Vicki would catch me occasionally getting too close to Birdie Birdie and would go crook on me. Here is a photo of me denying any wrong doing.

How could Vicki think I was going to do anything to Birdie Birdie? I just wanted to play - he had much better toys than me!

I even checked on Birdie Birdie at night. I found that when I put my head underneath the cloth covering Birdie Birdie, I could see everything that he was doing - he didn't sleep much at night - too busy playing with his toys!

It didn't matter how creative I got in disguising myself - Vicki always caught me.....I don't know how she saw me behind the curtains!!!! I thought that was my best disguise yet.

Anyway, Birdie Birdie did go home and I missed not being able to check on him at night.

This is living...

I just thought I would share the highlight of my day today. Yes, it was sitting on the lounge with Paul watching the History Channel. How much better can life get?

The latest on the Servant's disappearance...

Now I have just found out that instead of rushing home to feed and pamper me, Vicki & Paul stopped in at Wooloomoolo to see Warships (of all things) stationed at Garden Island. Didn't they know of the pain and suffering I was enduring while they were out galavanting! And they wonder why I wasn't too happy to see them. Hummph!

Where have they been?

My servants, Paul and Vicki disappeared over the weekend. I believe they went to see the ICC Women's Cricket at North Sydney Oval. What on earth would they want to do that for? It was televised on FOX3 and we could have all sat on the lounge and watched it together. Although, I do hate it when Paul watches cricket - he yells at the screen - something like "Howzaaaaattt"!!! Which according to him is an appeal. It sounds appalling to me....

Plus I have just heard Paul and Vicki talking about the cricket and when Paul asked what her favourite thing about the cricket was, it was apparently meeting someone called Brett Lee. What is so amazing about him? Doesn't she know that she already lives with Royalty (ahem...me!). Anyway, here is a picture Paul snapped after Vicki got Brett Lee's autograph.
